Our History...

Re-Imagine Education was founded in 2017 by two teachers, Ryan Williams-Virden and Ian McLaughlin, who have over 18 years of combined experience in the classroom. Ryan and Ian first met in 2015 when they were hired as founding teachers at a high school in Minneapolis, MN.  While working together, they co-taught in social studies classes, created curriculum for social justice, and provided professional development for other teachers. In 2017, the pair felt they wanted to share their passion, expertise, and curriculum as a resource for other like-minded educators who want to re-shape what teaching looks like in their classrooms by teaching what isn’t in most textbooks. Hence, they created Re-Imagine Education. All of the curricula provided by Re-Imagine Education incorporates racial equity, de-centering whitenesssocial justice, and intersectionality into every lesson plan.
